Lucid Dreaming: The Wisdom of Darkness

Thu Sep 10, 2026
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

One-third of your life is spent asleep. What if those hours could become a laboratory for self-discovery, creativity and spiritual awakening? Learn the science and the practice of lucid dreaming and discover how the ancient Tibetan art of dream yoga transforms the night into a path of profound realization.

Lucid dreaming is not new age speculation. It was scientifically verified in 1975 by Keith Hearne and independently by Stephen LaBerge at Stanford University, when dreamers signaled from within REM sleep using pre-arranged eye movements. Since then, an explosion of research has confirmed what Tibetan Buddhists have known for over a thousand years: The dream state is workable and consciousness can be trained within it.

This program will introduce The Five Nocturnal Meditations, focusing on the first two which are the most accessible for immediate integration into each of our lives. The first two Nocturnal Meditations that we can learn and practice quickly are Liminal Dreaming, becoming aware of the state between wakefulness and sleep, and Lucid Dreaming, recognizing that you are dreaming while the dream is happening.

Andrew Holecek is recognized as one of the world’s leading teachers on lucid dreaming and dream yoga, bringing together the ancient Tibetan Buddhist tradition with contemporary sleep science to make these practices accessible to modern seekers. The aspiration behind his teaching is simple: to help others navigate the spiritual path, transform obstacles into opportunities and discover how practices of the night can illuminate the day. His areas of interest and expertise also include the nature of consciousness, mindfulness, daytime dreaming, near-death experiences and the transitional state after death.
