Welcome to the Lighthouse Society!

Welcome to the Lighthouse Society!

THANK YOU
for being a Lighthouse Member!

The Lighthouse Society is comprised of Vail Symposium donors of $1,000 or more annually and eligible donors* receive benefits like complimentary tickets and invitations to hosted receptions with esteemed presenters.

*Some donation channels, like many Donor Advised Funds, restrict the donor’s ability to receive goods or services in exchange for charitable contributions. This typically applies to publicly available benefits like tickets and t-shirts, but may not apply to “intangibles” like invitations to receptions. Check with your tax professional for details.

Why is the Lighthouse Society important for Vail Symposium?

More than 90% of our operating revenue comes from donors and sponsors; about 60% of that is generously given by the Lighthouse Society. Not only does this philanthropy fuel our ability to create about 40 programs each year, but Lighthouse Members are reliable attendees and excited advocates to their friends and social groups throughout the community.

How can we get the most out of our Lighthouse Society membership?

Complimentary tickets: Eligible* Lighthouse members have access to complimentary and discounted tickets to most Vail Symposium programs. To access them, click through the program page ticket button and find the “Log in for member benefits” button on the ticketing page.

If you have not yet created your account, click on the “forgot password” link and follow the prompts to “reset” your password (yes, do this even if you are “setting” your password for the first time).

If it still doesn’t work, please reach out to Operations Manager Kevin Ives at kives@vailsymposium.org and he will be happy to help!

Please invite your friends! The most impactful way for new people to experience the Vail Symposium and our mission is to attend a program. We encourage Lighthouse Members to bring friends with them, so feel free to add more than 1-2 tickets to your cart accordingly! Can’t make it in person (or have friends/family outside of the valley)? Most programs are livestreamed and complimentary webinar tickets are available on the ticketing page. Recordings are available for on-demand viewing on YouTube.

Receptions with presenters

Each year, Vail Symposium brings about 60 of the brightest minds from around the country and the world to Eagle County. Following many programs, we welcome a small group of Lighthouse members to a reception with the presenter(s) for some food, drinks and continued conversation in an intimate setting.

To be invited, we need to know that you are in town and interested in the topic! Please reserve your tickets 2 weeks before the program in order to be eligible to attend. You are also welcome to email James Kenly at jkenly@vailsymposium.org with specific requests.

Note that we hope each Lighthouse member can attend at least one reception each year.

Interested in hosting? We are always looking for new hosts for these unique receptions! Please reach out to James to learn more about the format and to discuss the possibility.

Underwriting recognition: Contributions of $1,500 or more annually include underwriting of a program. This includes recognition on the website and in the welcoming remarks as well as an invitation to the post-program reception or dinner with the presenters. Prefer to underwrite a specific program? Please reach out to James Kenly to explore the possibility. We are thrilled to recognize your generous contribution at a program that aligns with your interests.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteer team, thank you for supporting Vail Symposium! We are grateful for the opportunity to provide educational and impactful programs for our community and we can only do that because of your philanthropy.

We hope to see you at a program soon!
