Magda King has been a respected leader and advocate in the Vail Valley hospitality industry for nearly two decades, known for her unwavering “people first” approach to management. Since joining the Antlers at Vail, she has earned recognition both locally and nationally, including being named Hospitality Professional of the Year, Tourism Professional of the Year, and receiving the Community Library Partnership Award, among other honors. Her work has consistently aimed to elevate Vail’s reputation as a premier international ski destination—while always prioritizing its most valuable asset: its people and culture.

King’s leadership is marked by creativity, compassion, and innovation. She launched a GED program for housekeeping staff and developed ongoing education opportunities for employees throughout the organization. She also helped establish a robust Employee Assistance Program to support team members both professionally and personally. Under her guidance, the Antlers at Vail underwent extensive renovations, achieving both Platinum and Diamond status through the Vail Valley Partnership—recognition that reflects her dedication to excellence in design, guest experience, and long-term vision.

A committed community advocate, King partners with nonprofits, providing lodging to amplify their impact, with the ultimate goal of enriching the community as a whole. Her philanthropic work includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Walking Mountains Science Center and Eagle Valley Behavioral Health. She was recently appointed as an At-Large Trustee for Colorado Mountain College, a role that aligns with her deep commitment to education, environmental stewardship, and community well-being.

Originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, King is proud of her heritage and mindful of her role as a Latina business leader in the United States. She hopes her journey will inspire other immigrant women to see opportunities beyond traditional roles: “I would love to set an example for women who come to this country thinking that they can only do trade jobs.”

King is also a devoted wife, mother of three and is currently building a second career as a Realtor with Keller Williams Team Black Bear in Eagle, Colorado, bringing her same values of integrity, care and excellence into the real estate world.
