Laurie Best is the manager of the Town of Breckenridge Housing Program. She has been in that position since 2000. Best obtained her bachelors in Urban Planning from the California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California and worked in Santa Barbara California before relocating to Colorado. In Breckenridge, Breck has led the Town’s affordable workforce housing initiatives and has received many accolades for the Town’s significant accomplishments. This includes award-winning neighborhoods, hundreds of rental units, and innovative housing programs to serve the local community and workforce. Best looks forward to sharing her experience, including lessons learned with other communities struggling with housing shortages.
