Jamie Price

Founding and Executive Director | Sargent Shriver Peace Institute

    Jamie Price founded the Sargent Shriver Peace Institute (SSPI) in 2006 and serves as its Executive Director. He has been a faculty member in the Department of Philosophy at Georgia State University; the School of Theology and Religious Studies at the Catholic University of America; the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago and the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University.

    Price received his B.A. from Lawrence University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago. Price’s research and writing projects focus primarily on the theory and practice of method in conflict resolution, the spiritual component of social change, the life and work of Sargent Shriver, and the philosophy and theology of Bernard Lonergan. Price is the co-author of “Spiritualizing Politics without Spiritualizing Religion: the Example of Sargent Shriver” (Kenneth Melchin co-author, U. Toronto Press) and the author of “The Call: The Spiritual Realism of Sargent Shriver.”
