Director of Public Health & Environment | Eagle County
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Heath Harmon moved to Colorado in 2000 after earning his Master of Public Health from the University of South Florida. With more than 30 years of experience in environmental and public health fields, he spent nearly two decades at Boulder County Public Health before joining Eagle County as the Director of Public Health & Environment in January 2020.
Harmon is deeply committed to ensuring that all people in Eagle County have the opportunity to live their healthiest life. Equally important to him is fostering a cohesive, inclusive workplace culture for the 42 team members at Eagle County Public Health & Environment. He and his team embrace the belief that how we treat others is as important as anything we accomplish. His leadership is grounded in shared values, including collaboration, respect, trust, integrity, and creativity.
Harmon enjoys the collaborative environment that is Eagle County – building strong partnerships, supporting innovative solutions, and creating opportunities for community well-being.
When he’s not responding to public health challenges, protecting the environment, or advocating for an inclusive community, you’ll find him outdoors—on a bike, skis or roller skates.
