Dr. Jessica Tierney is a professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arizona. She studies past climate change (paleoclimatology) to learn about how the Earth System works, using geochemical techniques, statistics, and climate modeling. She is a Packard Foundation Fellow, an American Geophysical Union Fellow, and a recipient of the Alan T. Waterman Award from the National Science Foundation. She was also a lead author on the last Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment Report.
