Dr. Beth Fisher-Yoshida, is a facilitator, educator, executive coach, author, and speaker, who partners with clients to develop initiatives to strengthen their core negotiation and communication skills and effectiveness to resolve conflicts. As President and CEO of Fisher Yoshida International, a consulting firm, her clients have included global organizations across industries in the Fortune 100, private sector, United Nations, nonprofit and government sectors, military and security forces, communities, school districts, and academic institutions. Fisher-Yoshida is Professor of Professional Practice and Inaugural Program Director of the Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program at SPS, Executive Director of the Advanced Consortium for Cooperation, Conflict and Complexity (AC4/Climate School), Director of the Youth, Peace and Society Project and Women, Peace, and Leadership Project at the Earth Institute/Climate School, all at Columbia University. Before Columbia University and her own consulting firm, she was a Training Manager with McKinsey & Company, Japan, a management consulting firm that focuses on top leadership and management on strategy. She has published many articles, chapters, and has authored and edited books. Her newest books include: New Story, New Power: A Woman’s Guide to Negotiation, published January 2023; which is also translated into Spanish, El Poder de Tu Historia; and she co-authored Peacebuilding in Colombia: From the Lens of Community and Policy, with Joan C. Lopez, published in August 2023. Her research and practice areas are women and negotiation, organizational conflict, and youth leadership. She is sought after for speaking engagements, to lead workshops, conduct podcasts, or write articles on these topics.
