Lawrence Argent uses examples of his work to illustrate a dialogue elaborating the relationship between site, space and the creation of art.Denver-based Lawrence Argent was born in England and trained in sculpture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and received an MFA from the Rhinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute.Argent is best known for his public art works, including “I see what you mean,” aka the big blue bear at the Denver Convention Center. Recent commissions include the centerpiece for Sacramento Interational Airport’s new terminal, selected artist for the Holocaust Memorial at The University of Denver, and selected artist for the Plaza Entrance and Design for Solaris Project in Vail.
