Don Cohen has been a resident of the valley for eighteen years. He’s one of the few guys you could accuse of “being in the dark” who’d take it as a compliment. Don’s lifelong love of movies really took off in junior high school when his drama teacher screened hours of classic silent movies in a course on early cinema.
Right out of college Don founded a corporate media production company in Denver that grew to become the largest in the region. He has written and produced scores of slide shows, films, video and interactive media projects. He has won numerous creative awards in public relations, advertising including an Emmy.
In his business life he has built several successful businesses including a high-tech public company. Currently he is the founder and the executive director of Economic Council of Eagle County.
Don and his wife Terry are avid filmgoers. In 2009 they saw 50 films and for 2010 upped that number to 61. And Don tells me that, less than two weeks into the new year, they’re right on pace with two indie’s added to this year’s list.
