David G. Nason is Chief Executive Officer of TIAA Wealth Management & Advice Solutions. He sits on the TIAA Executive Committee, driving TIAA’s comprehensive individual advice offer with more than $2.3 billion annual revenue, $259 billion in assets under management /assets under administration, and more than 2,100  employees.

He oversees the financial advisor team, the wealth management chief investment officer, the trust company, the broker-dealer and advice strategy and execution team including digital advice capabilities, client engagement, and third-party advisor sales and services teams. He also oversees a suite of complementary businesses, including the nation’s third largest Education Savings program with more than $60 billion in program assets.

In his previous role at TIAA, Nason was the Chief Operating Officer where he was responsible for building and strengthening enterprise-wide controls, including oversight of the Chief Control Officer, first-line risk and operational programs and certain transformation efforts (e.g., partnerships and divestitures). He also previously served as Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer and joined TIAA as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer.

Before TIAA, Nason served as President and CEO of GE Energy Financial Services, GE’s global energy investing business with $15 billion of assets across the capital structure. Previously, he served as the Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer at GE Capital, where he created a strategy, developed an organization, and operating framework for the $600 billion financial institution.

Before joining GE, Nason was the U.S. Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions for the U.S. Treasury. He served as a key member of Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson’s senior team covering banking, securities, and housing finance and was instrumental in the government’s response to the 2008 financial crisis. For his service, he received the Alexander Hamilton Award, the U.S. Treasury’s highest-ranking honor for a public official. Nason also served as a counsel to a Commissioner of the SEC, an attorney at Covington and Burling in Washington, DC and as a judicial law clerk for a U.S. District Court Judge in Baltimore, Maryland.

Nason serves on the Board of Directors of EverBank, the Board of Directors of IntraFi Network, and on the Board of Advisors for the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He is married with three children and they live in McLean, Virginia.
