North Korea withdrew from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in 2003. Iran is a signatory but has been repeatedly found non-compliant. A total of 191 states have joined the treaty–the most of any arms limitation agreement and a testament to the treaty’s global significance.
Join Ambassador Christopher Hill for a discussion on the North Korean and Iranian motivations and efforts to arm themselves with nuclear weapons. Ambassador Hill will also address U.S. efforts to prevent both countries from becoming nuclear-weapon states.
