    Rick Levin, an economist, served as CEO of Coursera, a leading provider of online education, from 2014 to 2017 and as President of Yale University from 1993 to 2013. At Yale, he rebuilt the campus, redeveloped downtown New Haven, strengthened the University’s international programs, co-founded Yale-NUS College in Singapore and committed the University to an ambitious fifteen-year greenhouse gas reduction effort. He served on President Obama’s Council of Advisors for Science and Technology. He is a director of C3.ai, the Analysis Group; the Yidan Prize Foundation and Yale-NUS College, and serves as an adviser to Temasek, TPG and GSV Ventures.

    Rick earned a B.A. in History at Stanford University, a B.Litt. in Politics at Oxford University and a Ph.D. in Economics at Yale. He holds Honorary Doctorates from Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Oxford and Peking Universities, and he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society.
