Jim Butterworth is a technology entrepreneur and award-winning documentary filmmaker. He earned a Bachelor of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He is an inductee into the Georgia Tech Academy of Outstanding Engineering Alumni and recipient of the Dartmouth College Martin Luther King Jr. Award for significant contribution to social justice. His debut film, “Seoul Train,” was bestowed the Alfred I. duPont Columbia University Silver Baton (the broadcast equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize). Altogether, his thirty films have won an Oscar, two duPont Silver Batons, a Peabody, and six Emmy nominations, in addition to awards at festivals around the world including Sundance and Tribeca. Jim also is the holder of 53 patents worldwide in the field of streaming media. He resides in Boulder and Vail, Colorado.
