Wine, Basketball and the Globalization of the Game

Thu Sep 5, 2024
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Wine and basketball? Yes. As NBA players have increasingly been recruited from around the world, so too have their interests expanded. More and more dominant upcoming players are coming from Europe (especially France), Australia, Canada, Africa and beyond. Players are also giving more thought to their investments and their careers post-NBA. The same passion that drove them to become the best in their sport drives them to learn as much as possible about their new area of interest.

Enter wine: not just investing and drinking, but developing true interests in becoming knowledgeable, and in some cases, owning and developing their own vineyards.

Join Baxter Holmes, senior ESPN writer and the first sports media person to win a James Beard Foundation Award, for this fascinating conversation about the NBA, wine and the globalization of the game. He will be joined in conversation by food and travel writer Paul Feinstein, author of “Italy Cocktails, An Elegant Collection of Over 100 Recipes Inspired by Italia,” and a producer on the food/travel show “From Scratch” with David Moscow.
