The trade war, North Korean nuclear ambitions, island-building in the South China Sea, Uighurs in detention camps in Xinjiang Province and many other contentious issues have resulted in deteriorating relations between the United States and China. Now accusations over the handling of the Coronavirus has Washington and Beijing trading conspiracy theories about the true origins of the virus. The image of both nations has been badly damaged by their respective handling of the virus.

Looking ahead, how will the pandemic shape the emerging Sino-U.S. rivalry? University of Denver Professor Sam Zhao is joined in conversation with veteran ABC correspondent Greg Dobbs to consider this question.
