Discussing the Health of America

It was a night of healthcare policy all-stars as faculty from the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation at the University of Michigan provided insight into various aspects of U.S. healthcare policy.

The first half of the program broadly addressed healthcare policy. Dr. Ayanian outlined the necessity and impact of Medicaid expansion in Michigan. Christopher Friese, Ph.D., provided an insider’s look at the creation of policy at the federal level. Also, Dr. Fendrick explained the philosophy behind Value-based Insurance Design (V-BID) which seeks to advocate for value-based, versus volume-based pricing. Following a short break, Doctors Brummett and Cunningham provided perspective as well as efforts to combat the opioid crisis.   [spacer height=”20px”]

Join us this week for an evening with Eric Maddox, the man who found Saddam Hussein, on Wednesday, July 18 at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel.
